What Child Care Programme Can My Child Attend?
The County of Wellington has agreements with many licensed child care programmes and licensed home child care providers throughout the County of Wellington and the City of Guelph. Parents/guardians can choose to use care at any of these programmes.
A list of the child care programmes can be found in the document section of the website under Licensed Child Care Programmes in the County of Wellington and the City of Guelph.
The Application Process:
There are typically 3 parts to the Subsidy application process:
- Intake: Information about the family's need for child care is gathered and if appropriate an appointment for financial assessment is booked. If there is a waitlist in effect you will be placed on the waitlist at this time.
- Financial Assessment: Financial and family information is reviewed with Child Care Subsidy staff to determine if a family is eligible, what hours of care can be subsidized and what the family's share of the cost will be.
- Placement in a child care programme: The family chooses the child care programme that best meets their child's needs and notifies their subsidy worker so payment to the programme can be arranged.
Child Care Subsidy Waiting List - Currently in Place
To ensure that service levels are maintained within the current fiscal fee subsidy budget, a wait list maybe established to delay the approval of child care subsidies to new children/families. At the time of intake, the family's information will be collected and their child is placed on a waiting list based on the Priority Wait list.
